The CTYFL offers 2 scholarships to former youth football players and cheerleaders who's town is currently a member of the CTYFL each year.  Players must be High School Seniors planning on attending college.

CTYFL Scholarship Guidelines

 

1 Open to High School Seniors living in towns that are current members of the CTYFL, and who participated in their towns youth football or cheerleading program for a minimum of 3 years.   There will be (2) $1000 dollar scholarships available, (1) for a football player and (1) for a cheerleader.

 

2)  This is a one-time, non-renewable scholarship.

 

3)  The scholarship is to be used for educational training beyond high school in any University, college, technical, nursing, or tertiary school.

 

4)  The scholarship will be apportioned to the recipient or recipients chosen by the Scholarship committee.  All checks will be made payable to the school.

 

5)  Should the recipient find that for any reason he/she is unable to use the scholarship during the ensuing school year, the student forfeits all rights to it.

 

6)  The criteria for awarding the scholarship shall include but not be limited to the following:

 

a. Minimum grade point average of 3.0

b. Copy of student’s transcript

c. Participation in varsity level football, cheerleading, or related community service

d. Submission of 500 word essay in which the applicant describes how either football

            or cheerleading has enriched his/ her life.

 

7)  The applicant must complete and return the questionnaire, teacher recommendation and

 essay to the applicant’s youth football/cheerleading organization’s board by April 25.  For program contact information see the www.ctyfl.com .  Or mail to:

8)  The essay must be 500 words, typed, and single-spaced. Please be sure to include your name,  address, and phone number on the essay.

 

9)   Awards will be announced at the June CTYFL Football Board Meeting.
